Nobody remembers the 4,000 photos you took; families remember the one you missed — the grandmother's aarti, the bride's father during kanyadaan, the one group photo with the Australia cousins who flew in for a day. A shot list isn't a creativity constraint; it's the insurance that lets your crew be creative everywhere else.
Here is the working shot list for a multi-function Indian wedding, function by function. Brief it to every crew member — especially freelancers shooting with you for the first time — and assign an owner for each section.
Haldi & Mehandi
- Haldi: the first smear, parents applying, the mess and laughter wide shot, turmeric-hands close-ups, candid splashes
- Mehandi: design close-ups mid-application and finished, the hidden groom's-name reveal, bride with mehandi artists, group of ladies with hands out
- Details: decor, garlands, the thaals, outfits on hangers before wearing

- Every choreographed performance — full length, plus reaction shots of the couple watching
